2019 Year in Review

Wow. Just wow. This past year has been a complete whirlwind…extremely busy, but yet very blessed. I never expected this past year to be as blessed as it has been. Looking back on this year, it is so evident that my plan for my life is not always what God’s plan looks like. This year taught me to surrender and enjoy the season of life God has you in.

In May, I completed my MBA with my brother by my side. We celebrated NO MORE PAPERS. NO MORE SCHOOL WORK. Boy, that was a tough season. Going to school full time while working a full time job and running a photography business was HARD. Extremely hard, but I am so thankful that is behind me. I have never been so excited to GRADUATE.

In July, I went on my very first mission trip to Honduras with a group of encouraging and loving people from Princeton Church. I have always had the desire to go on a mission trip, but always allowed fear to hold me back….but not this time. I made the decision to GO and that was the best decision I made. It is hard to put into words how much this mission trip impacted my life. We are so blessed…. far more than we often realize. Its easy to get caught up in our everyday norms and forget just how truly blessed we are to have the simple things…the necessities. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to serve along side a wonderful group and meet so many wonderful people.

In August, we took a family vacation to Alaska. We flew to Vancouver Canada where we got on the cruise ship. We cruised to Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan Alaska. This trip was a bucket list trip. In Juneau, Alaska we took a helicopter ride over to the Mendenhall glacier where we went dog sledding. Skagway, we did some kayaking and rode the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad. We also tried the Alaskan king crab and halibut. In Ketchikan we did some Salmon fishing where I caught my first salmon. In Vancouver we walked the capilano suspension bridge and zip lined Grouse mountain. This was a trip of a lifetime.

Late December, I finished out the year with a trip to NYC. Overall, this past year was full of travel and new experiences. I have made unforgettable memories and traveled the world this past year. I have grown in so many ways.

I share all of this to say, enjoy the season of life you are in or you might miss all God has in store for you. Don’t get caught up in the uncertain or the unknown. Surround yourself with people that actually encourage you, build you up, and love you. One of the biggest blessing of 2019 was my church family and my women’s Bible study group … the#Biblebabes. This group of girls impacted my life this past year and I am forever grateful for the fellowship.

I am SO thankful for EACH AND EVERY PERSON God placed in my life this past year.

My heart is excited and eager to know all The Lord has in-store for 2020. It may not be what I am expecting or wanting…but it will be exactly what I need. Jeremiah 29:11.

P.S. I am also so thankful for Gods provision in my photography business. I am so thankful for each and every bride, couple, family, senior etc that I have photographed in the past year. I enjoy sharing and capturing your special moments. Here is to 2020, and what it has in-store.
